Oboe
The oboe is one of the highest sounding instruments in the 6th grade band and is in the woodwind family. it reads treble clef music and usually has the melody, or lead part. The oboe requires a double reed (two pieces of cane vibrating together) to create sound. With a clear and distinct sound, the oboe is a specialized instrument, and only a select few students will be chosen for this instrument.
