Clarinet

The clarinet is a versatile and very important member of the woodwind family.  With a wide range of low and high notes, the clarinet can play both melody and non-melody parts. It reads treble clef music and its dark, mellow sound is produced by blowing air into a mouthpiece with a single reed. The clarinet is part of a larger family of instruments which includes the bass clarinet.  The bass clarinet is a larger, lower sounding instrument that some clarinet players will have the opportunity to play in 7th and 8th grade. Watch the short videos below to see if the clarinet could be one of your top picks!
