Bassoon
The bassoon is also the lowest pitched woodwind instrument offered in 6th grade. The bassoon is a double reed instrument like the oboe and reads in bass clef music. It can play both high and low notes with a dignified and majestic sound. The bassoon is one of the most specialized instruments in the band, and like the oboe, only a few select students will be chosen for the bassoon.
