Tuba
The tuba is the largest and lowest of the brass instruments, and it provides the foundation for the rest of the band's sound. This makes it one of the most important instruments in the band. While many believe the tuba would be hard to physically handle, the tubas we use for beginners are ¾ size and most students can easily hold the tuba after proper instruction. As another help to our students, tuba players are assigned two instruments from RISD, one to take and leave home for practice and another to play at school. Watch the short videos below to see if the tuba could be one of your top picks!
